Sound project - Initial ideas

A few days ago me and my partner Danny Wild met up and decided to brainstorm a few ideas. This is what we came up with.

Idea one
This would be based on the winter gardens in sheffield, we would use the acoustics to provide lots of echoes andbackground chatter, but on top of this we wanted to add in some glitching sounds, and maybe some other creepy sounds. We want to provide a false sense of security in terms of the quiet water, and low background chatter that seems so peaceful and then start to slowly creep out the listeners with similar sounds to that of the recording of the northern lights.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHvdZdsIZxg) As well as this i am hoping to provide other computer glitching sounds to provide a creepy digital soundtrack over a natural sounding area. i would hope to provide a strong contrast of sounds to create an unusual feeling.

Idea two
The main point behind this idea is for our main character, who we never see due to it being a sound peice, lives a very stressful life in the city, and for one reason or another decides to take a train to a rural area to explore and de-stress. He decides to do this after a peak of layered stressfull city related sounds, and then down to individual nature related sounds, with alot slower pace. the main point behind this is for us to follow our character and live the same stressful life, and for the audience to be told to just "chill out"

Idea three
This idea is based at a football ground, we hear different perspectives from the home and away fans, the turning of turnstables, selling of spare tickets, chants in the actual game, and as well as this we constantly have the actual footballers perspectives, the running out of breath, kicking the ball, maybe tackles or shouting at the referee for fouls. This could be a good layered peice if we include all aspects of going to a football game.

Idea four
For our final idea we decided on a cityscape of sheffield, this would include everything from sheffields strong history in steel manufacturing, construction, students, traffic, strikes, the first football club in the country, and anything else that describe sheffields history. We would have to try and get alot of the history related stuff rerecorded ourselves, such as the strikes we could record a large group shouting etc. but if done properly it could be a good and interesting project.

Me and Danny are having an online meeting tonight to try and decide on which of these ideas to do, we will be taking into accound the diversity of the sounds, any possible influations for experimental films, if we have the time and resources to pull off the decent recordings, but i will post something else in a couple of days with a final idea.
